Clinical Proof

At the world-renowned Johns Hopkins University, a clinical study was conducted with the object to compare various pillows, including the Chiroflow® Waterbase® pillow, and the effect they had on neck pain and quality of sleep. The results of this study were later published in the Archives Physical Medicine and Rehabilitation.
The Hopkins study found that in all five of the categories tested the Chiroflow® Waterbase® pillow was ranked best.

The study results showed that the Chiroflow® Waterbase® pillow is associated with reduced neck pain intensity and improved quality of sleep.

LOGAN COLLEGE OF CHIROPRACTIC, CHRONIC NECK PAIN STUDY / QUALITY OF SLEEP STUDY

Logan College of Chiropractic conducted two separate clinical studies. The first of the two studies conducted sought the evaluation of Chiroflow® Waterbase® pillow and its satisfaction among asymptomatic subjects. Asymptomatic subjects can be described as ones that do not show or exhibit any sleep disorders or suffer from chronic pain issues, making this study’s objective to see if the “regular” sleepers showed improved quality of sleep.

The study included 104 subjects and required they sleep on the Chiroflow® pillow and record their results. Based on the results they reported, Logan College found that 68.3% of the subjects found sleeping with the Chiroflow® pillow improved their quality of sleep over their usual pillow. Of the 104 subjects it was also reported that after the study completed, 90.4% of the subjects would continue the use of the Chiroflow pillow. Logan College subsequently reported that the use of the Chiroflow® pillow was associated with enhanced quality of sleep in asymptomatic subjects.

The second study was the evaluation of the Chiroflow® Waterbase® pillow as a therapeutic component of Chiropractic treatment of subjects with chronic neck pain and disability.

Both chronic neck pain and related disability are common reasons why patients seek chiropractic treatment in the first place. The objective of this study sought to determine the therapeutic value of the Chiroflow® Waterbase® pillow for subjects with neck pain.

Over the course of the study, in which 34 subjects completed, subjects used their previous pillow for 30 days followed by the Chiroflow® pillow for 30 days. The findings showed that there was substantial evidence that the Chiroflow® pillow provided the subjects suffering from chronic neck pain with both a reduction of neck pain and disability as well as an improvement on their quality of sleep.
